The law adopting the automated urban public transport fare payment system (e-ticket) shall take force on May 7.
It was endorsed by the Verkhovna Rada on January 17, signed by President Petro Poroshenko on February 3 and published by the official parliamentary Holos Ukrainy newspaper on February 7, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
It enters into force three months after the publication.
E-ticket is a travel document of a set form entitling a passenger after its registration in the automated fare payment accounting system to receive transport services.
Welfare beneficiaries in the population centres where the automated fare payment accounting system is introduced shall be provided with e-tickets, and passengers must register travel documents in population centres.
The document raises the ticket fine from 20-fold to 30-fold fare rate.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the Ministry of Infrastructure predicts that the automated urban public transport fare payment system (e-ticket) will have been adopted before April 2017 as a pilot project in Lviv and Dnipro.
