Russian Court In Crimea Leaves Crimean Tartar Mejlis' Deputy Chairman Chiygoz In Prison

A court in the Russia-annexed Crimea has left Crimean Tartar Mejlis' Deputy Chairman Akhtem Chiygoz in prison.

Lawyer Nikolai Polozov announced this in Twitter, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the defense of the Crimean Tartar Mejlis' Deputy Chairman Akhtem Chiygoz has filed an appeal against the extension of his arrest.

In December 2016, a court in the Russia-annexed Crimea decided to extend the arrest of Chiygoz until April 8, 2017.
