The Foreign Affairs Council will discuss the situation in Ukraine on 6 February 2017. This is said in a posting on the website of the Council of the European Union, Ukrainian News Agency reports. In particular, the Foreign Affairs Council is expected to assess progress in the implementation of the reform agenda in Ukraine in 2016. "Ministers will hold a debate on how to increase the impact of EU support. They will in particular assess EU support to the implementation of the Minsk agreements," reads the posting. According to the posting, the Council, chaired by the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Federica Mogherini, will also discuss the political situation in Libya and the situation in Egypt. As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, in December 2016, the Council of the European Union prolonged the sanctions against the Russian Federation till 31 July 2017.
