Ukraine Resumes Poultry Meat Supplies To EU

Ukraine and the European Commission have agreed to mutually apply the regionalization principle and to resume poultry meat supplies from Ukraine to the European Union.

Ukrainian News Agency learned this from a statement made by the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food.

As of Monday, chicken meat is supplied to the European market.

The agreement was achieved thanks to Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food Taras Kutovyi's meeting with European Commissioner for Health and Food Safety Vytenis Andriukaitis during the international exhibition Green Week in Berlin, and to the communication between the State Service on Food Safety and Consumer Protection and the EU Directorate General for Health & Food Safety and EU member-states' veterinary services.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the EU suspended poultry meat supplies from Ukraine as the State Service on Food Safety and Consumer Protection had uncovered avian influenza in Chernivtsi, Odesa and Kherson Regions.
