10 Of 43 Candidates For Head Of National Police Pass Tests

Ten of 43 candidates for the post of the head of the National Police of Ukraine have passed tests successfully.

Competition commission secretary Yevhen Zakharov announced this at a press conference, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

According to him, 46 candidates were invited to take the tests and three of them did not come.

"We have done this work and selected ten candidates," he said.

The following candidates are among ten tend candidates selected for the interview: Leonid Antonenko, a member of the Kyiv city council (Samopomich faction), Oleksii Shevchuk, lawyer of former leader of Ukrop Party Hennadii Korban, Andrii Vishnevskyi, Oleksandr Berlandin, prosecutor Vadym Hyrenko, and Stanislav Liudkevych, CEO of Ineko Investment Group.

The short-listed candidates selected for the interview also include Kostiantyn Bushuyev, deputy head of the National Police, Serhii Kniazev, head of the criminal investigation department, Dmytro Holovin, head of the Odesa regional office of the National Police, and Viacheslav Abroskin, head of the Donetsk regional office of the National Police.

The competition commission intends to select three candidates for the head of the National Police of Ukraine by February 6, 2017.

Interior Minister Arsen Avakov will nominate one of them for the post before the Cabinet of Ministers.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, Chief of the National Police Directorate in Kyiv Andrii Kryschenko and Acting Chief of the National Police Vadym Troyan have refused from participating in the competition.
