The Kyiv Pecherskyi District Court has authorized the Prosecutor General's Office to carry special pre-trial investigation (in absentia) against 15 former prosecutors of Crimea suspected of high treason.
The press service of the Prosecutor General's Office announced this in a statement, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
As the former prosecutors are on the temporary occupied territory of Ukraine, the Prosecutor General's Office has sent to the Kyiv Pecherskyi District Court 219 motions to obtain permits for special pre-trial investigation (in absentia) and 15 of the motions have been satisfied.
The consideration of the other motions continues.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, Prosecutor General of Ukraine Yurii Lutsenko says former President Viktor Yanukovych on 21 March 2014 signed a decree on renunciation of Ukrainian citizenship of 590 prosecutors of the Russia-occupied Crimea.
