The Ministry of Information Policy says that the Federal Security Service (FSB) of Russia has detained Nikolai Polozov, a lawyer to Deputy Chairmen of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar People Ahtem Chiygoz and Ilmi Umerov. First Deputy Minister of Information Policy Emine Japarova announced this on Facebook, Ukrainian News Agency reports. “Crimean lawyer [Emil] Kurbedinov called me and confirmed the detention of Nikolai Polozov. He was taken to the FSB directorate for questioning in the Umerov case,” lawyer Mark Feygin wrote on Twitter. He believes that they will try to question Polozov but he will refuse under article 51 of the Constitution of Russia. Feygin also predicts that the FSB will let Polozov go but he will be unable to defend Umerov any longer. As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, Germany is ready to render assistance in the treatment of Umerov.
