Ukraine will take part in 20 command-staff exercises abroad in 2017.
Dmytro Hutsuliak, spokesperson for the Defense Ministry of Ukraine, announced this, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
"The Armed Forces of Ukraine will take part in 20 command-staff exercises abroad with engagement of some representatives of the armed forces and in 16 multinational exercises with engagement of units of the armed forces of Ukraine," he said.
Close to 1,500 Ukrainian troops will take part in the exercises in 2017.
The participation of Ukrainian troops aims at enhancing the defensive capacities of the Ukrainian army and its compatibility with the forces of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO).
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on 19 January 2017, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine approved admission of foreign states' military units to the Ukrainian territory in 2017 for participation in multinational exercises.
