Roshen Corporation has decided to stop production at the Lipetsk confectionary factory Roshen (Russia) for political and economic reasons, a full mothballing is planned for April.
Ukrainian News Agency learned this from a Corporation's statement.
The staff has been already informed about the shutdown.
The factory produced 132,000 tons of products in 2013, 50,500 tons in 2015 and 40,000 tons in 2016.
The personnel strength reduced to 700 at end-2016 from over 1,900 at end-2013.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the Lipetsk confectionary factory incurred a loss of RUB 62.7 million in 2015, saw its net revenue down 25% or RUB 505.231 million against 2014, to RUB 1.527 billion.
In Ukraine Roshen Corporation owns the Kyiv, Mariupol (the shareholders decided to liquidate this one), Kremenchuk and two confectionery factories in Vinnytsia, Lipetsk-based Likonf confectionery factory in Russia, the Klaipedos Konditerija confectionery UAB Roshen in Lithuania and Bonbonetti Choco (Hungary).
Roshen is a subsidiary of the Ukrainian Industrial and Investment Concern (Ukrprominvest; Kyiv).
