Interpol has refused to put Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Viktor Muzhenko on the international wanted list on Russia's request.
Head of the Ukrainian Interpol Bureau Vasyl Nevolia said this during a conference, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
Interpol thoroughly scrutinizes all materials send by both Ukraine and Russia.
In all, 1,763 persons have been put on the international wanted list on Ukraine's request.
According to Nevolia, 64 of them are hiding in Russia; and approximately the same number of RF nationals, wanted by Interpol, are hiding in Ukraine.
As Ukrainian News Agency reported, the Investigative Committee of Russia in September 2016 opened a criminal case in respect of Defence Minister Stepan Poltorak, Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Viktor Muzhenko, Acting Commander of the National Guard Mykola Balan, Commander of the Army Forces Anatolii Pushniakov on suspicion of using prohibited means and methods of warfare and genocide.
