Rada Approves Admission Of Foreign Military Units To Ukraine For Participation In Combined Exercises In 2017

The Verkhovna Rada has approved admission of foreign states' military units to the Ukrainian territory in 2017 for participation in combined exercises.

Draft law No.5636 as a whole received votes of 236 Members of Parliament, while 226 votes is enough.

Combined strength of the exercises will be up to 3,500: up to 1,000 for Ukraine and for USA each, and up to 1,500 for NATO and participants of the Partnership for Peace programme.

It is planned to spend UAH 34,888,300 to ensure the conduct of these exercises.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, 22,000 troops were to participate in exercises in Ukraine in 2016.
