The National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NACB) has refused to close the criminal proceedings in which former Member of Parliament Mykola Martynenko (People's Front) is targeted.
Ukrainian News Agency learned this from a statement made by the NACB press service.
NACB detectives continue investigating the facts of taking over EUR 6,400,000 bribes (improper advantage) during the purchases by Energoatom, the national nuclear energy generating company, of equipment from Skoda JS (Czech Republic).
Foreign companies are involved in the money laundering.
NACB has sent requests for intercourt assistance to eight countries as part of the investigation.
They have received responses to most of them.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, Martynenko on January 11 said that the Solomyanskyi District Court of Kyiv had put the NACB under obligation to produce a decision to close the proceedings in which he is targeted.
