Chairperson-in-Office of the OSCE, Federal Minister for Europe, Integration and Foreign Affairs of Austria Sebastian Kurz stands for the round-the-clock operation of the Special Monitoring Mission of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE SMM) in Donbas.
He gave the position at a joint press conference with Foreign Minister of Russia Sergey Lavrov in Moscow, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
Sebastian Kurz said the OSCE will give the OSCE SMM the best technical equipment enabling the round-the-clock work and providing security of the observers of the Mission.
Sebastian Kurz said his trip to the east of Ukraine on January 3-4 was not the last.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on 17 January 2017, Foreign Minister of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin and Chairperson-in-Office of the OSCE, Federal Minister for Europe, Integration and Foreign Affairs of Austria Sebastian Kurz have discussed enhancement of technical capacities of the OSCE SMM in Donbas.
The OSCE SMM says it does not conduct monitoring of the disengagement of forces in Donbas at nights for security reasons.
