The Ministry of Interior Affairs of Ukraine has articulated a task of the State Border Service to be ready for taking quickly control of the section of the border with Russia in the occupied areas of Donbas in 2017. The press service of the Ministry of Interior Affairs announced this in a statement, Ukrainian News Agency reports. "In 2017 there will appear a task of coming to the internationally recognized state border in Donbas, and in Crimea later. In this process will be engaged policemen, the National Guard, the bodies of justice, but the border guards will go first," the press service quoted Interior Minister Arsen Avakov as saying at a staff meeting of the State Border Service on January 17, 2017. He says the key task of the border guards in 2017 is comprehensive readiness to take the state border of Ukraine under control. "This is not a propagandist statement of mine or a bee in the bonnet. This is reality we will have to face soon and the State counts on your readiness to decisive actions and will to provide this process," said the minister. Interior Minister Arsen Avakov emphasizes that it is not going to be a long-time mission and the border guards will have to take control of the state border within two weeks after receiving an order. As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, Interior Minister Arsen Avakov is confident that the occupied territories of Donbas will be freed by 2019.
