Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration Ivanna Klympush-Tsintsadze has canceled her visit to Davos (Switzerland).

Klympush-Tsintsadze announced this to Ukrainian News Agency.

"It corresponds to reality," Klympush-Tsintsadze said when asked whether the report about the cancellation of her visit to Davos was true.

Klympush-Tsintsadze recently announced that she intended to travel to Davos for a number of meetings and to participate in a "Ukrainian breakfast" meeting during the World Economic Forum.

"I am well aware that my speech at the breakfast and my mere presence there could trigger a wave of criticism, but I believe in your support," she recently wrote on her Facebook page.

Explaining the reason for the cancellation of the visit to Davos, the deputy prime minister wrote on Facebook that Russian propaganda was suggesting that some members of the Ukrainian were ready to abandon the Russian-annexed Crimea and the Donbas and integration into the European Union and NATO in favor of reconciliation with Russia.

"This is being done in order to cast doubt on our unity. This is all on the eve of a possible meeting between Putin and Trump, Probably to show that Ukraine may consider such an option and even agree to it... Considering all these, the 'Ukrainian breakfast' could be used to legitimize this debate. Therefore, my mere participation in it may look like part of this process," Klympush-Tsintsadze wrote.

According to her, the overwhelming majority of Ukrainian civil society does not give her the mandate to represent the position of Ukraine at this event.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, President Petro Poroshenko will travel to Switzerland to attend the World Economic Forum in Davos.

The World Economic Forum in Davos will take place from January 17 to 20.
