The Ukrposhta state postal communication enterprise has suspended acceptance of payments for utility services to accounts of the Kyiv municipal enterprise Main Information-Calculating Center (GIVTs).
Ukrposhta announced this in a statement, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
The statement reads that the decision to suspend the cooperation of Ukrposhta with the municipal enterprise accounts for unprofitability of the cooperation, including in the second half of 2016.
The analysis of the cooperation has established that the revenues from the transfers of payments for utility services by the population do not cover the expenses of the services provided by Ukrposhta.
The statement reads that since the legislation bans the state enterprise providing loss making services (except for universal postal services), Ukrposhta applied to the Kyiv municipal enterprise in December 2016 with an initiative to raise the price of Ukrposhta's services on receiving the payments for utility services.
Since the Kyiv municipal enterprise has rejected the initiative, Ukrposhta has made a decision not to prolong the contract after 31 December 2016.
The population can transfer payments for utility services to accounts of the Kyiv municipal enterprise through outlets of commercial banks and services of electronic payments.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, some 2,800 households have applied for the restructure of liabilities regarding payments for utility services for a total sum of UAH 27 million.
