100 MPs Paid UAH 8.4 Million For Foreign Trips In 2016

One hundred members of the Ukrainian parliament have been paid nearly UAH 8.4 million from the state budget 2016 as compensation for their foreign trips.

Ukrainian News learned this from the staff of the Verkhovna Rada following its inquiry.

Verkhovna Rada Chairperson Andriy Parubiy got UAH 73,500, Verkhovna Rada First Deputy Chairperson Iryna Heraschenko UAH 229,600, Verkhovna Rada Deputy Chairperson Oksana Syroid UAH 56,200.

In 2016, Verkhovna Rada Chairperson Andriy Parubiy was on working trips to the United States, Canada, Poland, Turkey, Lithuania, Italy (twice), and France (twice).

First Deputy Parliament Speaker / Presidential Envoy on Peaceful Resolution of the Situation in Donetsk and Luhansk Regions / Ukraine's Representative in the Humanitarian Subgroup of the Trilateral Contact Group (Ukraine, Russia, OSCE), Iryna Heraschenko made seven trips to Minsk, Belarus, at her own expense.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, 108 MPs were paid UAH 7.4 million in 2015 as compensation for their foreign trips.
