Cabinet Expecting Gas Production To Grow By 8.5% To 20.3 Billion Cubic Meters In 2017

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine expects that the production of natural gas by Ukrainian gas-producing companies in 2017 will increase by 8.5% or 1.6 billion cubic meters to 20.3 billion cubic meters against earlier expected 18.7 billion cubic meters in 2016.

This is said in the Concept on Gas Producing Sector Development for 2016-2020, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

In compliance with the document approved by the Ukrainian Government on December 28, in 2018, the production will reach 22.5 billion cubic meters, 25.2 billion cubic meters in 2019 and 27.6 billion cubic meters in 2020.

On the whole, in 2016-2020, the production is expected to make 114.2 billion cubic meters, of which 45 billion cubic meters will be produced as a result of planned works at existing and to be opened deposits.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, in the first 10 months of 2016, natural gas production in Ukraine rose by 0.8% or 126 million cubic meters to 16.6 billion cubic meters year over year.
