Russia has connected the Russia-occupied Crimea to its gas transport system. Ukrainian News Agency learned this from a statement made the Kremlin press service. “Vladimir Putin via videoconferencing gave start to gas supplies to the Crimean Peninsula through a new main Krasnodar Territory – Crimea gas pipeline,” it reads. Two 470MW power stations will be built in 2017-2018 on the base of gas which comes to Crimea, the RF Presidents said. In his words, 70km of main gas pipelines and 2,500 inter-settlement gas pipelines and eight gas-pumping stations will be built and refurbished within four years. As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, Putin is sure that relations between Russia and Ukraine will normalize. Russia annexed Crimea in March 2014. This November, the International Criminal Court (seated in The Hague, the Netherlands) decided to continue gathering evidence of Russia's involvement in the conflict in Donetsk and Luhansk Regions.
