The National Bank of Ukraine states that the PrivatBank has written off UAH 32 billion of debts to its stockholders.
Chair of the National Bank of Ukraine Valeriya Hontareva has told this to the Ukraina TV Channel, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
The NBU head said that the PrivatBank's obligations on deposits to structures associated with its stockholders have already been written off.
Earlier, the NBU head had stated that the capital deficit of PrivatBank was UAH 148 billion, of which UAH 32 billion could be covered at the expense of conversion of funds belonging to companies associated with the bank's stockholders.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on December 18, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine officially confirmed the decision to nationalize PrivatBank.
Before late this week, the Finance Ministry will issue domestic government loan bonds for UAH 43 billion.
