The National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) has proposed to write off UAH 32 billion out of the UAH 148 billion of the PrivatBank capital deficit. NBU Governor Valeriya Hontareva said this at ICTV, Ukrainian News Agency reports. The State will spend UAH 116 billion on the capital increase, she stressed. In her words, this amount will be classified as public-sector debt, and its servicing will be reflected in the budget. As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the Cabinet of Ministers on December 18 decided to nationalise PrivatBank. The bank was taken into provisional administration on December 19 for three days. After that the bank will be nationalised through conversion of the domestic-loan government bonds issued by the Ministry of Finance into the financial institution's capital.
