The European Parliament has deleted information about consideration of the issue of granting Ukrainian citizens visa-free travel to the European Union on 3 April 2017 from its official website.

Information about postponement of the consideration of this issue in the first reading from 1 February to 3 April 2017 appeared on the website on 15 December, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

This information was no longer on the website as of 17:00 on Friday.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the European Parliament approved a bill on introduction of a mechanism for suspending visa-free travel to the European Union for third countries on 15 December.

After the European Parliament adopts the document in the first reading, it should be adopted by the European Council.

The Committee of Permanent Representatives in the European Union (COREPER) recently approved commencement of negotiations between the EU Council and the European Parliament on liberalization of the EU's visa regime for Ukrainian citizens and the EU Council said that visa liberalization for Ukraine should enter into force at the same time as the new suspension mechanism enters into force.
