The Ministry of Temporarily Occupied Territories and Internally Displaced Persons has made an agreement with the representative office of the United Nations World Food Program (WFP) on cooperation in the provision of food aid to the citizens affected by the armed conflict in the east of Ukraine for 2017.

Ukrainian News Agency learned this from a statement made by the Ministry press service.

It goes of food sets, so-called food vouchers or money transfers for buying food to the citizens hit by the conflict both in the government- and terrorist-held territories.

The programme for aid to populations deprived of food and other populations hit by the conflict and loss of sustenance in the east of Ukraine is meant for 2017 and is destined to provide aid to 220,000 persons.

It is planned to raise USD 35.7 million for implementation of the programme.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the UN will provide aid to 2.6 million people affected by the armed conflict in Donbas under the 2017 Humanitarian Response Plan for Ukraine.
