State Space Agency To Launch Lybid Satellite In 2017

The State Space Agency plans to launch a Lybid satellite in 2017.

The State Space Agency announced this in a statement, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

According to the statement, the satellite has been assembled fully, it has passed all the necessary tests, and it is being held in storage until its transportation to the launch site.

In addition, according to the statement, the output of the State Space Agency's enterprises increased by 45.7% (at comparable prices) and their sales volume increased by 39.5% in the period of January-September 2016, compared with the corresponding period of 2015.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the State Space Agency previously predicted that the Lybid satellite would be launched in April 2014.

Canada-based MacDonald, Dettwiler, and Associates (MDA) is implementing the project under Ukrainian government guarantee.
