Troyan: Head Of National Police Office In Kyiv Kryschenko Orders To Involve KORD Forces In Special Operation In Kniazhychi

Vadym Troyan, acting head of the National Police of Ukraine, says Andrii Kryschenko, the head of the Kyiv office of the National Police, ordered to engaged the KORD special unit soldiers in the special police operation in Kniazhychi, Kyiv region, where five policemen were killed on December 4.

Vadym Troyan said this at a meeting of the Verkhovna Rada committee for law enforcement agencies, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

Vadym Troyan says eight suspects who were preparing a robbery in Kniazhychi have been arrested.

The KORD special unit soldiers were engaged to take part in their arrest.

First Deputy Prosecutor General Dmytro Storozhuk says detectives have taken guns, instructions, and the plan of the operation for study.

He says 25 policemen have been suspended.

Vadym Troyan says none of officers of the guard police has been suspended.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the Prosecutor General's Office suspects the managers of the special police operation in Kniazhychi of negligence of duty.

Five policemen were shot to death when firing at each other in Kniazhychi December 4.

Two police guard service staff, two Kyiv police operatives and a KORD special unit fighter were killed.
