More than 3,000 security agencies personnel have been killed and 10,800 wounded in the anti-terrorist operation (ATO).
Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces Viktor Muzhenko said this in an interview for Holos Ukrainy newspaper, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
The figures are as at late November.
"Since the start of the ATO, 3,064 members of all security agencies have been killed, 2,636 of them are servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine including 2,148 battle losses. And 10,753 people have been wounded including 8,897 of the Armed Forces of Ukraine," he said.
The General Staff estimates that Ukraine could lose some 10,000-12,000 people over 10 days of standoff in the event of Russia's full-scale military aggression.
Muzhenko underlines that the Ukrainian army today can minimum adequately respond to Russia's military peril but in case of all-out aggression it would be necessary to augment the Armed Forces strength and ensure quality resources' provision.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, President Petro Poroshenko is proud of the Armed Forces.
