Energy Commission Increases By 21.7% Heat Service Tariffs For Consumers Other Than Population

The National Commission for State Regulation of Energy and Utilities has increased by 21.7% the average weighted heat energy tariff for consumers other than population because of the higher natural gas price.

The Energy Commission endorsed this resolution at its regular meeting on Friday, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

The Energy Commission has increased the average weighted heat energy tariff from the current UAH 1,104.97/Gcal to UAH 1,345.15/Gcal (by 21.7%).

The decision of the Energy Commission accounts for higher natural gas price.

In particular, the indicative natural gas price for production of heat energy for consumers other than population is set for December at UAH 6,288.29 per 1,000 cubic meters (less VAT and transportation expenses) while the current price in the tariff of heat energy makes UAH 5,286 per 1,000 cubic meters.

Also, the Energy Commission has decided to compensate heating companies for the difference between the real natural gas cost in November (UAH 6,054.66 per 1,000 cubic meters) and the cost of the natural gas calculated in the heat energy tariff in November (UAH 5,286 per 1,000 cubic meters).

In particular, the heat energy tariff for consumers other than population of Kyivenergo (including expenses for transportation and supplies) grows from UAH 1,154.66 to UAH 1,408.01/Gcal.

The Energy Commission has increased tariffs of centralized hot water supplies.

In particular, the heat energy tariffs in Kyiv for consumers other than population will grow by approximately 20%.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the Naftogaz of Ukraine national joint-stock company set the prices of natural gas for industrial consumers and state-financed institutions from December 1, 2016 at UAH 6,484-7,148 for 1,000 c.m. (cubic metres) depending on terms of consumption and payment, 4.8-5.4% higher than in November (UAH 6,150-6,819 for 1,000 c.m.) (all prices net of VAT).
