The Kyiv city council intends to appeal to the Higher Administrative Court against the Kyiv Administrative Appeal Court's decision to overturn the Kyiv city council's decision to ban the sale of alcoholic beverages, soft drinks, and beer in stationary retail facilities (shops and retail chains) from 23:00 to 10:00.
Volodymyr Bondarenko, the chief of staff at the Kyiv municipal administration, announced this to Ukrainian News.
In comments to Ukrainian News, the Kyiv city council's deputy head Vladyslav Mykhailenko said that the city authorities would re-adopt the decision if the Kyiv city council failed to reinstate its decision in court.
According to him, Kyiv's Mayor Vitali Klitschko has ordered resolution of the issue of alcohol ban "in favor of the people of Kyiv" (i.e., prohibit its sale).
As Ukrainian News earlier reported, the Kyiv Administrative Appeal Court has overturned the Kyiv city council's decision to ban the sale of alcoholic beverages, soft drinks, and beer in stationary retail facilities (shops and retail chains) from 23:00 to 10:00.
