British Owner Of GML Capital Pinter Acquires Commercial Industrial Bank

Stefan Pinter, a British businessman and owner of GML Capital LLP (Britain), has acquired 100% of shares of the Kyiv-based Commercial Industrial Bank.


The press service of the bank announced this in a statement, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

The statement reads that major strategic goals of the new owner of the bank include development of capacities of the financial institution on rendering services to small- and medium-scale businesses in Ukraine, introduction of new banking products for facilitating the development of Ukraine's economy.

Higher efficiency and profitability of the bank will be also in the focus of his attention.

The statement reads that Stefan Pinter appreciates some latest trends regarding reforms in Ukraine's economy and its financial sector. He says he is optimistic about the prospects of the economic growth in Ukraine in the next few years.

Stefan Pinter believes free enterprise and SME will be the engine of the robust growth in Ukraine.

Stefan Pinter is Founding Partner, Chief Executive Officer and Chief Investment Officer of GML Capital LLP headquartered in London, Britain.

GML group was founded in 1983.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on September 30 the National Bank of Ukraine allowed Stefan Pinter, a British businessman and owner of GML Capital LLP (Britain), to acquire 100% of shares of the Kyiv-based Commercial Industrial Bank.

Yevhen Kazmin, a major scrap metal collector and recycler, was an owner of a substantial shareholding of Commercial Industrial Bank.

In May, the Shevchenkivskyi District Court of Kyiv issued a warrant for Kazmin's arrest after a petition from the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU). In September 2016, the Shevchenkivskyi District Court of Kyiv released from criminal responsibility Yevhen Kazmin, who was suspected of financing separatism.

In July it was reported, that Kazmin had sold Commercial Industrial Bank to a foreign investor.
