Klimkin Sees No Possibility Of Reaching Common Position With Russia On 'Roadmap' For Implementation Of Minsk Agreements

Foreign Affairs Minister Pavlo Klimkin sees no possibility of reaching a common position with Russia on the action plan for implementation of Minsk agreements.

Klimkin was speaking at a joint press conference with Sweden's Foreign Minister of Margot Wallstrom, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

According to Klimkin, the Ukrainian and Russian sides also do not share a common vision regarding control over the entire territory of Donbas by the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) and monitoring of the section of the Ukrainian-Russian border that is not controlled by Ukraine.

"Unfortunately, we are very far from even a share vision with Russia. Therefore, I am skeptical about the prospects of at least agreeing the basic issues of the 'roadmap' tomorrow (29 November), and I will defend the most important position for us, which involves the security and humanitarian dimensions," Klimkin said.

According to Klimkin, Russia intends to maintain its position regarding its attempt to pseudo-legalize its protectorate without doing anything to enable the international community and the OSCE to take control of the situation.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, Russia intends to participate in a meeting of foreign ministers in the "Normandy format" (Ukraine, France, Russia, Germany) in Minsk (Belarus) on 29 November.
