Deputy Justice Minister Petukhov Advocating Transferring Migrant Sheltering Quota To Ukraine Instead Of EU Countries

Deputy Justice Minister for European integration Serhii Petukhov favors the idea of transferring the migrant sheltering quota to Ukraine instead of the European Union countries.

He announced this on Facebook, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

Ukraine has become a hostage of the migration crisis in the EU, the Deputy Minister opines.

He is sure that Ukraine can help the EU address this problem.

Moreover, Petukhov stands for a closer cooperation between Ukraine and the EU in the investigation into international and trans-border crimes.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, Ukraine is about to sign an addendum to the agreement with the European Commission on financing the program of migration management and sheltering support to Ukraine.
