Fire at one of largest refineries in southern russia: enterprise attacked by drones

On the night of June 10–11, drones attacked the Afipsky Oil Refinery in russia’s Krasnodar Krai. A massive fire broke out on the refinery grounds following the strike.

According to local Telegram channels, the attack on the refinery in the village of Afipsky began after midnight. Local residents reported hearing the sounds of drones flying overhead at intervals of several minutes.

Videos posted on social media captured the russian air defense system in action and a massive fire on the plant’s grounds.

The Krasnodar Krai Operational Headquarters stated that drone debris fell in the village of Afipsky, causing the fire on the plant’s grounds.

The Afipsky Oil Refinery is one of the largest oil refineries in southern russia. Its design capacity exceeds 6 million tons of oil per year. The facility produces various types of fuel, which, according to open sources, is also used to meet the needs of the russian occupation army.

As a reminder, on May 28 and during the night of May 29, the Ukrainian Defense Forces struck a number of key russian occupation targets, including the Volgograd Oil Refinery, the Yaroslavl-3 oil pumping station, a Tor-M2 air defense system, a logistics warehouse, and UAV command posts.

Additionally, on the night of May 31, Ukrainian defenders struck the Saratov Oil Refinery, where a large-scale fire has been reported. Among other facilities of the occupying state that were struck is the "Lazarevo" linear production and dispatch station in the Kirov Oblast of the russian federation.

Meanwhile, on the night of June 2, the Ilsky Oil Refinery caught fire in russia’s Krasnodar Krai following a drone attack.
