Ukraine and russia exchange prisoners. 185 soldiers and 1 civilian return home

Another prisoner exchange took place between Ukraine and russia, the aggressor nation. A total of 185 military personnel and 1 civilian have returned home. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced this on Telegram on Friday, June 5.

"Another 185 Ukrainian defenders are returning home today from Russian captivity. One civilian is also returning with the defenders. These are soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the National Guard, and the State Border Guard Service," the head of state wrote.

The soldiers who defended Ukraine in Mariupol and at Azovstal, as well as in the Donetsk, Luhansk, Kharkiv, Kherson, Zaporizhzhia, Sumy, Kyiv, and Kursk Regions, have been successfully returned home. Among them are those who have been in captivity since 2022.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on May 28, the Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights, Dmytro Lubinets, stated that russia, the aggressor country, is using manipulation and delays to hinder the previously agreed-upon prisoner exchanges with Ukraine.
