Air defense forces neutralize 189 of 198 russian drones at night, hits at 7 locations

On the night of Wednesday, June 3, the russian troops launched 198 strike drones over the territory of Ukraine, the air defense forces managed to neutralize 189 of them.

The press service of the Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has stated this on the Telegram channel, the Ukrainian News agency reports.

It is noted that on the night of June 3 (from 6 p.m. on June 2), the enemy attacked with 198 strike UAVs of the Shahed, Gerbera, Italmas types and simulator drones of the Parodiya type from the directions of Bryansk, Kursk, Millerovo, Oryol, Primorsko-Akhtarsk (all - russia), Hvardiiske (Crimea).

"According to preliminary data, as of 8 a.m., air defense forces shot down/suppressed 189 enemy UAVs of the Shahed, Gerbera, Italmas types and drones of other types in the north, south and east of the country," the report says.

8 strike UAVs were recorded hitting 7 locations, as well as the fall of downed ones (fragments) at 7 locations.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on the night of June 2, the russians launched 73 missiles and 656 drones of various types over Ukraine, and the air defense forces managed to neutralize 642 targets: 40 missiles and 602 drones.

On May 31, President Zelenskyy stated that Ukraine continues to ask the US presidential administration to provide licenses for the production of interceptor missiles for Patriot air defense systems.

And the day before, May 30, the head of state announced that Germany had transferred to Ukraine a new launcher for the IRIS-T anti-aircraft missile system.

Recall that on May 28, at a press conference in Sweden, Zelenskyy said that providing Ukraine with licenses for the production of missiles for Patriot would give Kyiv the opportunity to meet critical defense needs.
