The High Anti-Corruption Court has remanded Andriy Yermak, the former head of the Office of the President, into custody but set bail at 140 million hryvnias, which he can pay to be released.

This decision was made today by a judge of the High Anti-Corruption Court, according to Ukrainian News.

The High Anti-Corruption Court partially granted the request of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office, as they had sought arrest with bail set at 180 million hryvnias.

Additionally, if bail is posted, Yermak will be subject to a number of restrictions and obligations. Specifically, he must not leave Kyiv, must surrender his foreign passports, and must not communicate with certain witnesses and individuals involved in the case.

In addition, Yermak will be required to wear an electronic ankle monitor if bail is granted.

As reported by Ukrainian News, Yermak complained that he did not have the 180 million hryvnias required for bail. Prosecutors from the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office are asking the court to seize the diplomatic passport and other travel documents of former Head of the President’s Office Andriy Yermak and to prohibit him from traveling abroad. The Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office is asking the High Anti-Corruption Court to take former Head of the President’s Office Andriy Yermak into custody and set alternative bail in the amount of 180 million hryvnias.

NABU has notified Yermak of his status as a suspect in the “Dynasty” case in Kozin. Yermak’s lawyer considers the suspicion unfounded and denies his involvement in the “laundering” of 460 million hryvnias.
