President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy has reacted to the massive night attack by the aggressor country russia. In a post on his Telegram channel, he stated that russia is betting on war and does not deserve any easing or lifting of sanctions.
"Another night that proves that Russia does not deserve any easing of global policy and the lifting of sanctions. Russia is betting on war, and this is exactly what the response should be - we need to protect life with all our might and we need to press for peace with all our might," the President wrote.

He thanked Germany, Norway and Italy, with whom Ukraine has already reached new agreements on air defense support. The president also said that work is underway with the Netherlands on additional supplies.
Zelenskyy also noted that in the morning he had heard a report from the commander of the Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
"There were almost 700 Russian drones the day before and the night before. There were also missiles: 19 ballistic missiles and more cruise missiles last night. Most of the ballistic missiles were against Kyiv. We managed to shoot down 636 drones and some missiles. Unfortunately, not all of them. There are hits and damage to ordinary houses. Unfortunately, there are casualties in Odesa, Kyiv and Dnipro. Among the killed is a boy, 12 years old. My condolences to the families and friends... As of now, we know about 100 wounded as a result of this massive Russian attack," he said.

The President emphasized that there can be no normalization of such a russia, and pressure on the aggressor country must work.
"And it is important to fulfill every promise of assistance to Ukraine in time. There are many political commitments of our partners that have already been announced but not yet implemented. Including in the Ramstein format and on a bilateral basis. I instructed the Air Forces Commander to contact those partners who had previously made promises regarding missiles for Patriots and other systems. I look forward to a report on the results," Zelenskyy wrote.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on the night of April 16, the aggressor country russia massively attacked Kyiv with ballistic missiles and drones, killing five people, including a 12-year-old child.
