The actions of the United States and Israel against Iran are "a pre-planned and unprovoked act of armed aggression against a sovereign and independent UN member state."
It was stated by the russian Foreign Ministry, commenting on the Operation Epic Fury (Roaring Lion), which began on Saturday, during which Washington and Jerusalem are launching missile strikes on Iranian targets across the country.
The russian Foreign Ministry complained that the operation against Tehran began "despite the signals conveyed to the Russian side that the Israelis had no interest in a military confrontation with the Iranians."
According to the russian Foreign Ministry, which in January 2025 agreed with Tehran on a "comprehensive strategic partnership," such US-Israeli attacks are a "violation of the fundamental principles and norms of international law."
Actions against Iran are "irresponsible" and will lead to the "destruction of peace, stability and security in the Middle East," the kremlin's pale moth's Foreign Ministry said: "Washington and Tel Aviv have once again embarked on a dangerous adventure that is rapidly bringing the region closer to humanitarian, economic and not excluded."
According to the ministry of the terrorist country, the "aggressors" intend to achieve the "destruction of the constitutional order" of Iran and eliminate the leadership of the "unwanted state, which refused to obey the dictates of force and hegemony."
The russian Foreign Ministry also said that the administration of President Donald Trump "in recent months" has allowed itself to inflict "destabilizing blows" to the world order, in particular, interfering in the internal affairs of other countries, threatening and using force instead of "peacefully resolving international disputes."
"We demand that the situation be immediately returned to a political and diplomatic settlement. Russia remains ready to contribute to the search for peaceful solutions based on international law, mutual respect and a balance of interests," the russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
In turn, russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov had a telephone conversation with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi. The russian foreign policy chief condemned the "unprovoked armed attack by the United States and Israel on Iran" and also stated the need for an "immediate cessation of attacks."
