On the day of the fourth anniversary of the beginning of russia's full-scale aggression against Ukraine, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, First Lady Olena Zelenska, together with European leaders who arrived in Kyiv today, prayed in St. Sophia of Kyiv for Ukrainians and a decent peace in Ukraine. It was reported by the Office of the President, the Ukrainian News agency informs.
The prayer was attended by: President of Finland Alexander Stubb, President of the European Council António Costa, President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen, Prime Minister of Denmark Mette Frederiksen, Prime Minister of Estonia Kristen Michal, Prime Minister of Iceland Kristrún Frostadóttir, Prime Minister of Latvia Eikēka Siliņa, Prime Minister of Norway Jonas Har Støre, Prime Minister of Croatia Andrej Plenković, Prime Minister of Sweden Ulf Kristersson, and Minister of National Defense of Lithuania Robertas Kaunas.

Representatives of churches and religious organizations - the Orthodox Church of Ukraine, the Reformed Church, the Roman Catholic Church in Ukraine, the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church, the All-Ukrainian Union of Churches of Evangelical Christians-Baptists, the Spiritual Directorate of Muslims of Ukraine, the Ukrainian Evangelical Church, and the Association of Jewish Religious Organizations of Ukraine - read prayers.
They prayed for the blessing and help of Ukrainian soldiers, a decent peace, the release of prisoners, for everyone who was forced to leave their homes, for all Ukrainians and for the unity and resilience of the Ukrainian people.



As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, at four in the morning on February 24, 2022, millions of Ukrainians woke up to explosions. On that day, russia launched a full-scale invasion, which became the largest war in Europe since World War II.
On February 24, 2022, the Verkhovna Rada approved the introduction of martial law by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in connection with russia's outbreak of war and the announcement and implementation of general mobilization.
