In January, russian troops occupied 245 square kilometers of Ukrainian territory. This is almost half as much as in December or November last year. It was reported by the DeepState analytical project.
The analysts' report notes that the rate of territorial losses slowed down in January. "In January, the enemy occupied 245 square kilometers of Ukrainian territory, which is almost half as much as in December or November last year," DeepState notes.
At the same time, the decrease in the intensity of hostilities was not as significant as many military officials expected. "An unexpected fact was the percentage of drop in assault activity - only 4% less than in December, although most of the military say that January is still relatively less tense than last month," the project's analysts say.
Most of the russian army's attacks in January took place on the Pokrovsk axis. "33% of all assaults occurred on the Pokrovsk axis, the main enemy's attack is there," DeepState analysts report. The Huliaipillia axis was in the second place in terms of intensity of fighting, where 21% of all attacks were recorded. At the same time, the number of assault operations there increased by 1.75 times. The next most active axes are Kostiantynivka (12%), Lyman (8%) and Oleksandrivka (8%).
DeepState also drew attention to the situation on the Sloviansk axis. "The Sloviansk axis was the negative record holder, where 3% of the assaults accounted for almost 20% of the territorial losses," the analysts noted.
The DeepState analytical project regularly publishes updated data on the course of hostilities and changes on the frontline map. More information on the current map and summaries can be found on the project's official resources.
Recall that over the past week, the russian federation has launched more than 980 drones in Ukraine, almost 1,100 KABs and two missiles.
