United States President Donald Trump has said that he personally asked and received russian dictator vladimir putin's agreement to stop shelling Kyiv and major Ukrainian cities for a week. The corresponding video was published by the Clash Report X-account on Thursday, January 29.

Trump said he called putin specifically to make the request.

"I personally asked Putin not to fire into Kyiv and various cities for a week. He agreed to do that. And it was very nice. A lot of people said, ‘Don’t waste the call. You’re not going to get that.’ And he did it. And we’re very happy that they did it,” Trump said.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on January 29, Oleksii Honcharenko, a member of the Verkhovna Rada and president of the Committee on Migration, Refugees and Displaced Persons in PACE, said that Ukraine and the aggressor country russia allegedly have an agreement on the introduction of an energy truce, but there is no date for its start.
