US President Donald Trump plans to meet with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in Davos on Thursday, January 22. It was reported by CNN on Wednesday, January 21, with reference to two people with knowledge of the situation.
Zelenskyy was in Kyiv during Trump's speech at the World Economic Forum. In his speech, the US president said that he plans to meet with the Ukrainian president later that day. Later, answering questions from the press during a bilateral meeting with Switzerland, the US president said that the meeting with the Ukrainian leader would take place on Thursday.
"I believe they are now at a point where they can come together and make a deal, and if not, they are fools," Trump said of Zelenskyy and putin during his speech.
They intend to continue discussing efforts to end the war in Ukraine, CNN reports.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on January 21, US President Trump's special envoy Steve Witkoff said that on Thursday, January 22, he and Jared Kushner are planning a meeting with russian dictator vladimir putin in moscow at the request of the russian side.
