UkrArmoTech has presented new armored vehicles, the GYURZA-03 and DESNA, which have recently passed codification tests. This was reported by the expert publication Defense Express.
The GYURZA-03 can withstand fire from armor-piercing incendiary bullets of 7.62x39 mm caliber from a distance of 30 m. Compared to the previous version, GYURZA-02, the new vehicle has partially replaced the troop compartment with a cargo compartment. Thus, the Armed Forces of Ukraine will soon receive a full-fledged armored pickup truck.
This change will allow ammunition to be transported safely for personnel. The vehicle can be used to transport 81/82/120-mm mortars or reconnaissance UAVs of the fixed-wing type. The modular design makes it possible to place various types of equipment on this platform. In particular, it allows configuring radiation reconnaissance vehicles, air defense systems, radar stations, and artillery systems.
The armored cabin for the crew and troops accommodates five soldiers and has mine protection that can withstand the detonation of 8 kg of explosives under a wheel or the bottom. At the same time, a new solution in the form of a suspended floor has been used, which will later be scaled to other serial armored vehicles from UkrArmoTech.
The ground clearance of the armored pickup has increased from 379 mm to 450 mm, which provides the GYURZA-03 with better cross-country ability. The maximum speed of the vehicle on the highway is up to 110 km/h. The GYURZA-03 is capable of fording water obstacles up to 1200 mm deep and overcoming vertical obstacles up to 390 mm high. Also, as in other vehicles from UkrArmoTech, there is a 360-degree view using cameras, the images from which are displayed for the driver and on a tablet for the troops. For night operation, a system with an infrared camera with active illumination is installed.
The GYURZA-03 is equipped with a communication system, heater, air conditioner, fire suppression systems, and air filtration systems. The equipment also includes electronic warfare systems. The armored vehicle may have a rotating turret for a gunner. It is also possible to integrate a combat module that will allow firing from inside the vehicle.
Currently, UkrArmoTech developments have passed codification tests and preparations are underway for the production of a batch for the military, on the basis of which they plan to gather combat experience. The company says that its new vehicles have attracted the interest of various agencies and units present at the tests.
