The Tolk Group held another business-client meeting in Uzhhorod, gathering participants both offline and online. The discussion covered key issues of the energy market, methods to reduce electricity costs, efficient energy consumption, implementation of new technologies, and cooperation between suppliers and consumers.
Topics that sparked active discussion included business involvement in the energy transition, the benefits of implementing automated electricity metering systems (ASKOE), green electricity certification, risks of unregulated solar generation, and preparations for Energoatom’s maintenance campaign in the summer of 2025.
Andrii Horbkovyi, Head of Business Client Sales at Tolk Ukraine LLC, and Mykhailo Petruk, Deputy Director of Volynelectrozbut LLC, spoke about the concept of the “active consumer” as a key trend in today’s energy market and its advantages for businesses. These include reduced vulnerability to market fluctuations, increased energy independence, and the opportunity for additional revenue in the future.

Viktoriia Hlukhaykina, Head of Business Support at Tolk Ukraine LLC, addressed the topic “Why install ASKOE today?”. She explained the importance of automated commercial electricity metering systems, which help avoid overpayments and allow real-time consumption control. For example, in April and May, consumers without ASKOE would have paid 30–34% more under the new calculation method that may soon come into force. Other benefits include compliance with legal requirements, avoidance of potential imbalances, and simplified energy management.
Hlukhaykina’s next presentation focused on Guarantees of Origin (GO) of electricity. On October 21, 2024, the Tolk Group participated in Ukraine’s first-ever auction for selling guarantees of origin for electricity produced from renewable energy sources.

This official confirmation of renewable electricity origin and its environmental value underpins Tolk’s new green initiative, which has already attracted support from business partners. The innovative tool – the Tolk “Green Label” – was presented by Iryna Beresnieva, CEO of Tolk Ukraine LLC.
“The ‘Green Label’ not only certifies the producer company’s environmental responsibility but also provides marketing advantages, additional points in ESG scoring systems, and enhances the competitiveness of consumers on all markets – especially those where eco-friendliness is a key requirement. The Tolk Green Label is added value for businesses and strengthens their international image,” she emphasized.
Participants also discussed “How to save by adjusting the consumption schedule?”. Using day-ahead market (DAM) prices, adapting consumption, improving enterprise energy efficiency, and implementing effective energy management – these professional insights and real case studies were presented by Oksana Hentish, Director of Volynelectrozbut LLC.

Yurii Fedko, Director of Zakarpattiaenergozbut, spoke about what to expect from Energoatom’s maintenance campaign, which has already begun and will last throughout the summer. He also outlined potential business impacts and recommended supplier response measures.
The risks posed to the energy system by uncontrolled construction of solar power plants were detailed by Iryna Beresnieva. She analyzed the issue’s history, causes, and solutions. The Tolk Group is already working on a solution for its consumers: the first phase of a 17 MW / 50 MWh energy storage system is planned for launch in 2025 — a step toward managed solar generation in Ukraine.
Participants — both offline and online — had the opportunity to ask experts their questions and received professional answers. The dialogue continued in a networking format.
