11 Bukovel Hotels Pass International Green Key Environmental Audit

Eleven hotels and the NUMO restaurant, located within the Bukovel resort complex, have received international environmental certification through the Green Key program. To the already certified RADISSON and GLACIER hotels, the following have now been added: HAY, TAVEL, HVOYA, TWINS, MOUNTAIN RESIDENCE, BUKOVEL HOTEL, BUKOVEL APART, BUKOVEL SHALE, and SHELTER. This was announced by Bohdan Krasavtsev, Head of the Bukovel Office for Sustainable Development.

Green Key is an international eco-certification for hotels and restaurants that are committed to protecting the environment — by conserving energy and water, sorting waste, using environmentally friendly materials, and more. Receiving this certificate is a sign of responsible and sustainable practices. The program operates in more than 80 countries worldwide. Bukovel meets all the international requirements to become the first officially certified Green Key tourism destination in Ukraine and only the fifth in the world. The certification has been confirmed through official documents and awards from Green Key.

“Bukovel is fully committed to preserving the Carpathian environment and promoting responsible tourism. Over 70% of our guests come here to enjoy nature and clean mountain air,” said Bohdan Krasavtsev.

“According to recent studies, more than 70% of Bukovel’s visitors come specifically to rest in nature and breathe fresh air. For them, the resort’s environmental quality is a top priority. That’s why Bukovel is deeply invested in protecting the Carpathians and developing eco-tourism. We place great emphasis on building local infrastructure, using renewable energy sources, implementing modern waste sorting and recycling technologies, conserving and purifying water, minimizing single-use plastic, applying eco-safe materials and products, and promoting eco-friendly transport. Certification is not the end point, but an important milestone on the path to our long-term vision: to make Bukovel a model of sustainable tourism development, where harmony with nature meets world-class service,” Krasavtsev added.
