UK will supply Ukraine with air defence for USD 115 million
The British Ministry of Defence announced the conclusion of three contracts for the supply of air defence equipment to Ukraine.
European Pravda reported this with reference to Sky News.
The amount of contracts is more than GBP 90 million (USD 115 million). The British Ministry of Defence concluded the largest contract for GBP 56 million with the Norwegian defence company Kongsberg. It provides for the supply of anti-drone systems that Ukraine will be able to use to detect, track, destroy and disrupt the work of Russian UAVs.
Among other things, it concerns the CORTEX Typhon system, the delivery of which the Norwegian manufacturer announced earlier this week.
Two other agreements also deal with air defence, but the British Ministry of Defence has not provided more specific details about them.
It is noted that the agreements were concluded within the framework of the International Fund for Ukraine (IFU), which has so far raised more than GBP 770 million to provide lethal and non-lethal military support to Ukraine.
Recall that the German government announced the provision of a new package of military assistance to Ukraine. It included air defence systems, radars, artillery ammunition, and trucks.
Besides, the Swedish parliament approved a new package of military assistance for Ukraine.
