Farmers harvest 23 million tons of early grain

As of August 11, agricultural enterprises harvested 22.961 million tons of early grain and leguminous crops from an area of 3,782,000 hectares from an area of 5,292 hectares with a yield of 43.7 centners per hectare.

This is stated in the message of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

Currently, 4.9 million tons of barley have been ground on an area of 1,263,000 hectares with a yield of 38.8 centners per hectare.

17.698 million tons of wheat were also collected from an area of 3,830,000 hectares with a yield of 46.2 centners per hectare and 361,200 tons of peas from an area of 146,600 hectares with a yield of 24.6 centners per hectare.

Besides, 200 tons of millet were ground from an area of 300 hectares with a yield of 6.9 centners per hectare and 100 tons of buckwheat from an area of 80hectares with a yield of 11.3 centners per hectare.

It is noted that the largest grind was in the Odesa Region - 3.2 million tons, farmers in this region have already completed the collection of early grains and legumes.

Farmers of Zaporizhzhia are also the leaders in grain harvesting, they threshed 90% of the area.

Farmers in 13 regions finished collecting peas.

The Dnipropetrovsk and Kherson Regions began harvesting millet, the collection of buckwheat in the Dnipropetrovsk Region also continues.

Besides, in all regions, the collection of rapeseeds continues, which has been threshed on an area of 1,315,200 hectares.

3,702,100 tons of rapeseed were ground at a yield of 28.1 centners per hectare.

At the same time, 7 regions have already completed the collection of this culture.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, harvesting began in Ukraine late in June.

Earlier, farmers completed the sowing of spring crops.

A total of 12.75 million hectares of grain, leguminous and oilseeds, as well as 213,000 hectares of sugar beet are planted.

In particular, grain and legumes were sown on an area of ​ ​ 5.672 million hectares, sunflower sowing was carried out on an area of ​ ​ 5.308 million hectares.
