Farmers harvest 16.6 million tons of early grain

As of August 4, agricultural enterprises harvested 16.574 million tons of early grain and leguminous crops from an area of 3,782,000 hectares with a yield of 44.0 centners per hectare.

This is stated in the message of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

Currently, 3.755 million tons of barley have been ground on an area of 939,000 hectares with a yield of 40 centners per hectare.

12.513 million tons of wheat were also collected from an area of 2,698,000 hectares with a yield of 46.4 centners per hectare and 306,400 tons of peas from an area of ​ ​ 125,300 hectares with a yield of 24.5 centners per hectare.

The leaders in grain collection are agricultural producers of the Mykolaiv Region, they threshed 82% of areas, and the largest threshing was in the Odesa Region - over 2 million tons.

Agrarians of nine regions have finished collecting peas.

Agricultural producers of the Dnipropetrovsk Region began to collect buckwheat.

Also, the collection of winter rapeseeds continues, which were threshed on an area of ​ ​ 1,182,300 hectares, 3,319,800 tons of seeds were threshed at a yield of 28.1 centners per hectare.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, harvesting began in Ukraine.

Earlier, farmers completed the sowing of spring crops.

A total of 12.75 million hectares of grain, leguminous and oilseeds, as well as 213,000 hectares of sugar beet are planted.

In particular, grain and legumes were sown on an area of ​ ​ 5.672 million hectares, sunflower sowing was carried out on an area of ​ ​ 5.308 million hectares.
