Honduran President arrives in Ukraine on first visit after election
Honduran President Nasry Asfura arrived in Ukraine on his first visit. This was reported by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Friday, June 19.
Zelenskyy and Asfura walked along the Wall of Remembrance near St. Michael's Cathedral and paid tribute to the fallen defenders of Ukraine.
"Honduras' President Nasry Asfura began his first visit to Ukraine by honoring the memory of fallen Ukrainian soldiers. This is an important gesture of respect for our people who gave their lives for Ukraine, for freedom and peace. We appreciate such support, solidarity with our people and understanding of what Ukraine is going through today," the President of Ukraine noted.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, in 2024, former Honduran President Juan Orlando Hernandez was sentenced to 45 years in prison and an USD 8 million fine for crimes related to drug trafficking.
