London court freezes Mudryk's assets worth GBP 2.5 million

Chelsea and Ukraine national team winger Mykhailo Mudryk has found himself at the center of a legal scandal. Femis Sagirov, founder of JJDS Management Limited, has accused the soccer player of breaching his contract, according to Sport.ua.

According to Sagirov, in 2023 Mudryk signed an agreement under which he was required to pay 30% of all commercial and sponsorship revenues, but refused to fulfill these obligations. The case has been referred to court.

The High Court in London issued an order to freeze Mudryk’s assets worth GBP 2.5 million (~UAH 150 million)—including real estate, vehicles, and bank accounts. In addition, the court imposed spending limits on the soccer player: he is allowed to spend only GBP 5,000 per week, and he is required to provide documentation verifying his sources of income.

“We are seeking approximately six million. This amount stems from two cases: a trial is underway in Cyprus regarding a EUR 2.4 million debt for lost profits, and in England, the amount of the claims totals USD 2.8 million,” Sagirov said.

The defendants in the case include not only Mudryk, but also his agent Vadym Shablii, his company ProStar, and Chelsea. The court will soon consider the issue of freezing Shablii’s assets.

It was previously reported that due to Mudryk’s suspension, Shakhtar could lose EUR 30 million.
