In Lviv, man took 13-year-old girl hostage after seeing territorial recruitment center's military
In Lviv, a man saw the territorial recruitment and social support center's military on the street, after which he grabbed a 13-year-old girl who was passing by and put a knife to her neck. This was reported by the Lviv Region Police.
The incident occurred on the evening of May 9 on Kavaleridze Street. Before grabbing the girl, the man sprayed tear gas.
"Thanks to the policeman and territorial recruitment and social support center's military, the hostage was released in a matter of minutes. The girl was not injured, there is no threat to her life or health," the report says.
Law enforcement officers identified the attacker - he turned out to be a 43-year-old resident of Lviv, he was detained.
Criminal proceedings have been initiated under Part 2 of Article 146 (Unlawful deprivation of liberty or kidnapping of a person) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for restriction of liberty for a term of up to 5 years or imprisonment for the same term.
A pre-trial investigation is underway, and the issue of notifying the detainee of suspicion is being resolved.
